SUPERHERO SUPERMODELS

New York’s Metropolitan
Museum of Art’s Costume Institute hosts Superheroes:
Fashion and Fantasy. Honorary Chair Giorgio Armani
and Co-Chairs George Clooney (who knows a thing or
two about playing Batman), Julia Roberts, and Anna
Wintour present this super exhibition. Featuring over
60 ensembles, from movie costumes to haute couture,
explore the evolution of the superhero costume and
uncover how the superhero serves as the pinnacle of
transformation (see Kent, Clark). Designers in the
exhibition include Giorgio Armani, Balenciaga, Dolce
& Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, and Thierry Mugler.
