NEW YORK WATERFALLS
by Andrew Mersmann

Article Tools Sponsored By

New York will be celebrating a monumental public art “event” this summer with New York City Waterfalls. International art star Olafur Eliasson is creating enormous temporary installations that can only be seen from July through October along the shores of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Governor’s Island. The cascading walls of water are 90-120 feet tall, designed to protect water quality and aquatic life, run on green power, and operate daily until 10 P.M. As dusk arrives, the waterfalls will be dramatically lit, adding a new, arresting element to what is already one of the world’s most impressive skylines. www.nycwaterfalls.com
