The world's first revolving hotel will be built off the coast of Croatia on the island of Solta. Dubai was once believed to be the head contender in the battle to build such a structure, but UK architect Richard Hywel Evans

of Studio RHE has been given the OK to complete this £70 million project in Solta. The hotel will offer stunning, 360 degree views of the Adriatic. The hotel is planned to be finished within the next two and a half years.

The rotating section of the hotel will slowly spin on a turntable. Over the course of a day, the three-story section containing 50 suites, will rotate 1.3 times.

Guests of the still unnamed hotel will enter through an underground entrance. They will then take a lift and walk along a walkway to the spinning section.

The hotel hopes to revitalize Solta by adding a 170-berth marina and yacht-club along with guest pavilions and villas.
