A rally will take place in New York City on November 19th at 12:30 P.M. against Uganda's "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" at the Uganda House 336 East 45th St.
The organization SMUG (Sexual Minorities Uganda) a network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex organizations based in Uganda helped organize the event as a result of an international call to action by the Human Rights Watch.
The “Anti-Homosexuality Bill,” now being debated in Uganda’s Parliament, would deny all basic rights to Uganda’s LGBT people. It threatens civil society and human rights defenders, and would devastatingly impair Uganda’s response to HIV and AIDS.
Similar actions are happening around the world this month, including in Copenhagan, Ottowa, Pretoria, and on the same day in Washington D.C. Dates for these rallies will be available on the Human Rights Watch website.
