Unlimited Upgrades on Continental and United?

Codeshare partners United Airlines and Continental Airlines revealed that beginning next year both companies will give Elite members of each carrier's frequent flier program unlimited free upgrades. Of course, it doesn't come easy. For Silver Elite, a flier must earn 25,000 elite qualification miles or 30 points in a calendar year.
