Censor Gay? Tell St. Petersburg Mayor No Way

February 21st, 2012 Rebeka B. Silva

In less than a week, a final vote on the passing of the “gay gag rule” will be decided, a bill which states that it is a crime to read, write, or even discuss anything gay in St. Petersburg, Russia. If the bill is passed, gay and straight people will suffer the consequence of censored information because of intolerance. AllOut.org, an equality everywhere activist group, is trying to collect 100,000 signatures to tell Governor Poltavchenko of St. Petersburg, a major profiteer as a tourist destination, that we will not vacation there any longer! As Russia’s second-largest city that attracts tourists from around the globe, this reputation of muzzling speech and information cannot coexist with the travel destination.

If you agree, take one minute to hit the Governor where it hurts – his wallet – and tell him “I won’t go there” if the bill passes.
