Wear Purple Tomorrow to Show Support for Gay Americans
Tomorrow, millions of LGBT people and allies will be participating in Spirit Day by wearing purple. Wearing purple tomorrow will show your support for LGBT people and against bullying of LGBT teens.
GLAAD is working with organizations including the American Federation of Teachers, the PACER Center, GLSEN, GSA Network, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), PFLAG, and The Trevor Project as part of National Bullying Prevention Month to inspire Americans to wear purple on Spirit Day.
Celebrities are also getting in on the action, including: Chaz Bono, Mia Farrow, Lukas Haas, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Julianne Moore, Sara Ramirez, the case of Degrassi, Jersey Shore cast, Shenae Grimes, Gale Harold, Bob Harper, and many more including on-air personalities like Wendy Williams, Conan O’Brien, and hosts of The View, Access Hollywood Live, Dr. Drew, E!’s Marc Malkin, and Thomas Roberts of MSNBC. Also, look out for companies’ logos becoming purple tomorrow (including ours).
In addition to wearing purple, you too can join in further by changing your Facebook or Twitter purple with this free app from GLAAD.
