“Same Love” duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will soon be adding  “equality champions” to their resumes as the United Nations announced that the two will join the Free & Equal campaign. The two, who have supported organizations like You Can Play and ACLU, will help spread the message of equality for the LGBT community through social media. The Free & Equal campaign began in July and has already recruited celebrities like RIck Martin, South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly, and Brazilian singer Daniela Mercury. “We’re so honored to be working with the United Nations and Free & Equal to help spread a message of equality and respect,” Macklemore said in a statement. “Ryan and I have always believed that human rights are for everyone—no exceptions.” [RS]
