Just a few weeks ago, we thought that Miss Hilton was going to make it big as the next great hotelier, but lesson one in the industry—don't piss off a major hotel chain. After her most recent arrest outside the Wynn Las Vegas for cocaine posession, Wynn has had enough with Paris and her boyfriend's antics. The hotel officially banned the heiress from both Wynn Las Vegas, and their sister property Encore. So what's a hotel heiress to do? Easy, she can shack up at the Hilton Las Vegas anytime said a spokesman.
"She has been a guest here many, many times and we would always welcome her back," said Las Vegas Hilton spokesman Ken Ciancimino.
"The history between Paris and this property is long, indeed," added the spokesman. "We here at the Hilton certainly wish Paris the best and hope that she gets through any and all of her difficult times." [Hollywood]

Following the likes of Philadelphia and Toronto, Ottawa may soon be the newest city to designate specific streets with signs to identify the gay neighborhood. The signs will read "The/Le Village" complete with a rainbow flag. Ottawans first saw the signs during this year's Capital Pride, but so far they are only a prototype. First, they will have to receive widespread support and government approval. The plan is then to install them along Bank, between Nepean St and James St.
“It is just a really amazing acknowledgement from the city, this is history in the making, this is a legacy for the community,” says Lenn Crawford, Chair of The Village Committee. “Boiling it down to simple succinct reasons to why we need this — it is about acceptance, acceptance of our community in our city.” [Xtra.ca]
How do you feel about using street signs to identify GLBT neighborhoods?

The Japanese really do think of everything. We've known they had an appreciation of cats (Hello Kitty!), but we didn't know that people would pay $9 an hour to sit in a café and just watch/pet these felines. TIME gets their paws dirty and digs deep into the emerging cat café culture in Osaka, Japan.

Look, I believe that every person in this world has the right to profess the beliefs they have, and I am in agreement. We have to respect what each human being decides to do with their lives, no? Clearly, there are limitations, of course, also, as there also are with heterosexual couples, no? Better said, there are limitations for any of the two - if they are heterosexual or homosexual - but I believe we have to learn to be respectful because they are people who are the same as us. There is no difference.
And I don't believe it's just to discriminate against somebody based on the gender they prefer, no? Based on the partner they choose to select, if it's a man or a woman. The truth is that I am absolutely against discrimination and, well, what can I say. I have many friends who are homosexual, and I adore them. And they are equal folk: there is no reason we should want to set them aside, there is no reason why we shouldn't let them enjoy what they want to enjoy with their partner.
After 2009's IGLTA Annual Global Convention, Toronto will once again play host to a gay-travel conference in November. Tourism boards, analysts, and media professionals will come together to discuss LGBT tourism in North America, particularly Canada.
All the gay travel chatter happens on Nov. 5 in downtown Toronto. Expect some great panels, enlightening discussions, and plenty of chances to network with people from a cross section of professions. Much focus will be placed on Canada with seminars like "positioning Canada as a unique destination" and "actually, there is 'gay market.'" Representatives from the Vancouver Olympics organizing community and Gay Whistler are slated to give a talk as well. [globalmail]
